Reaching a milestone like 1,000, whether it is steps walked in a day, words written in a manuscript, or publishing articles in a blog, is not just a numerical achievement; it is a celebration of perseverance and dedication. It is sort of a battleground of challenges that is often daunting, but crossing the threshold into the four-digit realm signifies more than just a number—it represents a commitment to improvement and persistence.
For the most part, writing history is not a difficult task. What you do is tell it like it was. Imagine the first step taken toward this goal. What began as a simple decision, has become something that is greater than its parts. Creativity is a prime ingredient, but it takes hard work. Each number along the way tells a story of effort and determination. These 1,000 units remind us that progress is achieved one step at a time.
Celebrating an achievement is like a vacation and vacations are perfect times for reflection. It is essential to take a moment to acknowledge not only the destination but the path that led here. The smaller achievements – the first 100, then the 500th – should be remembered, even if they passed unnoticed. Those could have been times when motivation waned but still, we chose to push forward.
Moreover, because reaching a milestone serves as a reminder of how important goal setting is, it inspires new goals and makes it important to evaluate how to reach them. One of Postcard History’s new goals will be increased readership and expanded participation of contributors.
No matter how we celebrate reaching 1,000, it is worthy of recognition. It is an opportunity to demonstrate resilience and recognize the challenges ahead. So, if you are a veteran reader or a new subscriber – we know you are out there – our statistics grow every month – currently we’re are reaching about 15,000 readers each month – raise a glass and congratulate yourself for being a dedicated collector, history enthusiast, and reader of postcardhistory.net.
And, as the future unfolds, log in each week and explore the world with us one postcard at a time.

I’m 65 — hope I’m around to celebrate the 2000-article milestone in 2030!
There was a time when there were several printed postcard publications but they have all sadly disappeared. Thankfully, POSTCARD HISTORY has helped fill that void and has done so with informative and engaging articles…. 1000 times! With appreciation for your valued contribution to deltiology.
