Electricity Makes Women Free

Coffee-makers, blenders, mixers, can-openers, toasters, juicers, ranges and refrigerators. How could we live without these appliances? We could, but life has been so easy since electricity came into America’s kitchens. Nearly a century ago, Westinghouse Electric boasted that “electricity makes women free.” It does a great deal for men, too!

“Would you?” could be a conditional question, because it is often followed by, “… if I did …!
This set of twelve postcards asks the question but the illustration answers it in ways that are sometimes funny but often misunderstood since the one-hundred-plus year-old cards exhibit humor from a much different time.
