James C. Bardell and Walter Finn. Two men who probably didn’t know each other are central characters in a story about a set of postcards published in the 1930s. The images show the beautiful old trees in Muir Woods. These black and white photographs are simply exquisite.

Postcards showing Civil War people and events, battlefield sites, the weapons they used, and even the paraphernalia and baggage that was carried around or sent by train, seem to be in endless supply. And today, the days between April 1861 and April 1865 still capture the attention of everyone even remotely interested in history.
