Silhouettes were once among the most popular forms of art. Anyone could afford a silhouette because they were sold in resort gift shops and on seaside boardwalks. The one my mother had made of me came from Coney Island.

Early memories of the happy and carefree family vacation often include the restaurants where families enjoyed meals. Parents could relax because the “check” would not break the bank and the kids could eat whatever they wanted. Many such memories began at the local LITTLE CHEF!
