Many postcard collectors have serious collections. They’re interested in preserving home town history, amassing and cataloging every postcard printed by a particular publisher or studying the changes in technology over time. But sometimes, postcards are just plain fun!

This bio-sketch of Edward Herbener is typical of dozens, maybe hundreds of local photographers who documented their town’s places of interest. History would be incomplete without their work products. Real photos and printed cards of “Landscape, Buildings, Animals, etc.,,” as he promised in his ads have been forever collectible.
