Mount Rushmore is one of America’s most well known and admired memorials. In spite of its popularity the story is not well known. This bit of American History is well recorded in Bob Toal’s postcard collection.

“Strange,” would be the word if you found someone with a kiwi as a feathered pet. Their care may be more than one would expect, and their chirps (caws) are ear-piercing. In New Zealand they are a national symbol loved by all.
