The same question could be asked about The Met.

It is an oxymoron indeed to, “put on your Sunday best, we’re going to see an oil tank burn!” But it happened many times in the first decades of the 20th century. You could even go by train on a Sunday afternoon. The postcards only hint at what a circus it must have been.
