    Chrome cards like these, that help us remember life in the 1950s and 1960s, are fast becoming difficult to find. Oh, how soon we forget! Pretty soon they’ll be as scarce as the cards from previous decades — and almost as scarce as the products they advertised.

When you read historic accounts on topics like “race suicide” you may wonder why it was such a concern. In our times, terms for imagined problems seem to appear in the media and before the next blink of your eye, everyone is using it. Few understand, but it is added to the lexicon, hence it no longer describes the problem; it is the problem.
