Eating a meal with a stranger is not uncommon in Europe. People do it all the time. Most European don’t share our American ideal of solitude. This is a story of a one time event that lived in memory for a very long time.
“Tragedy” and “Disaster” are both ugly words. Tragedy involves great suffering, distress, and destruction. Disaster describes a sudden event or accident that causes great damage and involves loss of life. By definition of these two words the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge was both. And a century old tradition continued – making postcards to tell the story.
