The Fischer Quintuplets were born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on September 14, 1963. They were the first quintuplets to survived after the birth in 1934 of the Dionne quintuplets of Ontario, Canada. François Flameng is not a house-hold name, not even in France, nevertheless World War I historians owe Monsieur Flameng a huge debt of gratitude for his paintings of the war. From 1915 to the prisoner exchanges in 1918, Flameng documented wartime battles and events. The exact number is unknown, but around 1925, the Parisian Army Museum sponsored a 20-card set of Flameng’s paintings.
