    The Israelite House of David is a Christian communal community founded in 1903 by Benjamin and Mary Purnell in Benton Harbor, Michigan. In its heyday it was an economic powerhouse with a famous barnstorming baseball team, an amusement park, and numerous commercial businesses.

George Meade wanted to attend college and study law. Instead he enrolled at West Point and with the exception of a few years, became a career military officer. Truly a man of many talents, Meade was a role model for many except for the demerits he got for lack of shine on the brass buttons on his West Point uniform.
